Smith Rock State Park
I don't usually enjoy shooting sunsets without any clouds to add drama, color, and texture to the sky.
However, this one feels different to me. The vibrant blue sky pinned against the yellow of the setting sun casting itself upon the peaks of the rock, setting the scene behind a foreground becoming more desaturated by the minute.
The contrast of each of these elements shows the transition of the sunset in all of its glory. The sky, the peaks, and the valley below are all the same as they were just hours before this photo was taken - however, the light's position allows them each to tell a different story at a different time.
Soak up the various seasons of our peaks and valleys, as the lights in our lives continue to shape them for new stories to be told.
