Watching the shadow climb up the face of Half Dome at sunset will never get old. It is such a stunning natural phenomenon to witness.

Having photographed this event many times, I went hunting for a new location within Yosemite National Park to capture this sunset. I found this spot tucked away, but almost hidden in plain sight. As you get just beyond the trees, you come up on this spectacular view of Half Dome reflecting perfectly off the Merced River.

Moments like this, you wish you could freeze time in order to be able to soak it up for as long as possible.
